電影《蜘蛛人:離家日》影評:A kid who had just lost his father
蜘蛛人:離家日影評Finally, we have the first film after Avengers 4: End Game.
Paying tribute to the four already-gone heroes in the End Game, namely Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, and Vision, in the opening scene, Spider Man: Far From Home tells a stroy of a kid who had just lost his father in the tragic event. The friendly neighborhood Spider Man feels disoriented, stressed out, uncertain of himself, and desperate for a break from everything while he is not spared even a moment, because he has been reminded of his father-like mentor Iron Man almost everywhere.
Thereafter, our spidy makes a few mistakes. The phone calls from Nick Fury has been constantly ignored by him. The glasses left by Tony Stark specifically for him has been given to Mysterio, the villain in this movie, who coincidentally and misguidingly appears to be similar to his mentor, so he chooses to trust him on whatever terms. He finds familiar feelings in fighting alongside with Mysterio.
However, Peter Parker is trapped in the visionary space created by Mysterio with drones and related technology, after he finds the hidden truth and the fact that he has been cheated. He, ironically, finds no chance of beating the viscious guy who has no superpower but relies merely on the tricks of projecting lively images.
Luckily, there is still Happy who comes to his rescue and tells what Tony thinks of and expects from him. The old-day connection with his dear leader helps Peter to regain his confidence and stand up on his own feet and defeat his enemy. His Spider Sense, though having become numb in the journey in Europe, also comes back, making him friendly neighborhood Spider Man again.
Post-credit scenes have become the tradition of The MCU to overlap different movies, and as usual, the two this time are practically informative and turn out to be the most jaw-dropping moments in the viewing. In the first one, Mysterio lays the blame on Spider Man by putting a clip on line, saying Spider Man is actually the one responsible for the destruction in London. What's much more shocking is that he uncovers Spider Man's identity to the world. Yes, now everyone knows that Spider Man is Peter Parker, which is unprecendental in the big screen and will definitely lead to bigger troubles to Spider Man. In the second one, shapeshifters, who have first appeared in Captain Marvel earlier screened this year, turn out to be hiding and immersing all the time on Earth, which means Nick Fury and some heroes that we are familiar with may not be who we have thought they are. What a cunning and impressive move of MCU.
When it comes to the technology of Stark Industry, the glasses Edith used by Tony in Avengers 3: the Infinity War show the extent to which augmented reality can be applied and universal supervision around Earth is offering protection and thousands and hundreds of drones giving aid in each mission.
At the same time, Spider Man's suits of different versions have been shown in the movie, even the dark one offered by Shield(probably not Shield since shapeshifters have been lurking among us for so long), reminding us of dark Spider Man in the original Spider Man trilogy played by Tobey Maguire. Pretty awesome!
