Ubuntu 12.04下GAMIT10.40安裝步驟：
1 首先就是Gamit軟體——gamit.tar.gz的準備，大概64M；
2 將下載的gamit.tar.gz複製到 opt/gamit10.40/下面，這裡需要建立資料夾10.40，sudo mkdir gamit10.40;
3 安裝Cshell。sudo apt-get install csh;
4 安裝gfortran。sudo apt-get install gfortran;
5 安裝libx11-dev庫支援。sudo apt-get install libx11-dev；
6 安裝Gamit軟體， 進入gamit目錄，首先還是要解壓的，sudo tar –xvf gamit.tar.gz;然後需要給安裝檔案 install_software檔案可執行許可權，命令為chmod +x install_software,然後在該目錄下面輸入./install_software進行安裝。
8 系統提示相關：(在root許可權下)
GAMIT and GLOBK to be installed into /opt/gamit10.40

install_software -help on the command line
The compressed tarfiles will be removed after extraction of the
directories, but except for that, the script may be stopped and
rerun safely from any point. Tarfiles to be uncompressed:

此時先不要繼續安裝，進入/opt/gamit10.40/libraries/目錄，修改Makefile.config中的一組引數，原文中的
MAXSIT 60
MAXSAT 32
MAXATM 13
MAXEPC 2880
將MAXATM改為25。回到終端，
“ 輸入字母 y”，提示
GAMIT dimensions in /libraries/Makefile.config are set to
maxsit = 60
maxepc = 2880
maxatm = 25
maxsat = 32
Are these defaults found in Makefile.config correct?
If NOT edit the Makefile.config now before choosing to contine
Continue ? (y/n)
“ 輸入字母 y”，開始安裝。期間會出現如下問題：

Failure in make_gamit -- install_software terminated
解決方法：修改opt/gamit10.40/libraries下的Makefile.config資料夾，找到
# ----- for Linux from 0.0.1 to 3.0.0 -- #
OS_ID Linux 0001 3000
將其修改為：
# ----- for Linux from 0.0.1 to 3.0.0 -- #
OS_ID Linux 0001 3203
問題就得到解決了。
9 安裝最後會提示

(in .cshrc/.tcshrc add: setenv HELP_DIR /opt/gamit10.40/help/)
: INSTITUTE evnironment variable in your shell profile
(in your .cshrc/.tcshrc add: setenv INSTITUTE where_i_work)
where_i_work is a 3 character identifier for your solutions
10 至此，軟體已經安裝成功。但要始軟體能夠正常使用，還要修改主資料夾下的 .bshrc”檔案.開啟終端,進入主資料夾(home)，輸入 gedit .bshrc，此時會進入.bshrc的文件，複製下面的內容到文件中：
export PATH=$PATH:/home/xinsui/GNSS_SOFT/gamit10.40/gamit/bin:/home/xinsui/GNSS_SOFT/gamit10.40/kf/bin:/home/xinsui/GNSS_SOFT/gamit10.40/com:/home/xinsui/GNSS_SOFT/gamit10.40/gamit/com
export HELP_DIR=/home/xinsui/GNSS_SOFT/gamit10.40/help/
export INSTITUTE='SOG'
11 驗證是否成功，doy命令，如提示：

表明安裝與設定成功。
